The UCR is an annual registration program mandated by federal law. It applies to:
Motor carriers operating across state lines
Freight brokers and freight forwarders involved in interstate commerce
Leasing companies operating in interstate or international commerce
Failure to register can lead to fines, penalties, and delays in your operations.
Required if any of these apply to you
You must register for UCR if:
You operate a commercial vehicle in interstate or international commerce
You are a broker, freight forwarder, or leasing company involved in interstate commerce
Your vehicle has a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 lbs or more
Your vehicle transports hazardous materials requiring placards
Your vehicle transports more than 8 passengers for compensation
