Who Needs to Register for UCR?

You are required to register for UCR if:

  • You operate a commercial vehicle in interstate or international commerce.
  • You are a broker, freight forwarder, or leasing company involved in interstate commerce.

Commercial vehicles include trucks, tractors, and buses that:

  • Have a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more.
  • Transport hazardous materials requiring placards.
  • Transport more than 8 passengers for compensation.
